The Close Pine Gap organising collective in Melbourne is organising a bus with two drivers to transport people directly from Melbourne to Alice Springs, in one journey. It’s a long ride but a fun one, with plenty of beautiful country to see along the way.
It’s also the cheapest way to get to and from Alice Springs, with an early-bird price of $200 return, if you book before July 1. After that, it is still cheap as chips with a return price of $250.
We are asking people who attend the Close Pine Gap camp to contribute $20 a day for food and camping ($100 for Monday-Friday). There will be a number of significant costs related to camp infrastructure, including shelter, water and toilets: all essential for a fun and safe time in the desert!
The bus will leave Melbourne on the 25th September, and return on the 3rd October.

If you’re travelling from elsewhere in Australia, there are bound to be other people nearby who are interested in making the journey so please get in touch and we’ll connect the dots.
