protest 50 years of complicity on stolen Arrente land: 26 September - 2 October

Pine Gap is a joint US-Australia military spy base that occupies Arrente land near Alice Springs. It is one of around 700 US military bases located outside of the US. It is vital to US military and surveillance capability. Most of Pine Gap’s functions are operated by major US aerospace and defence corporations including Raytheon, Boeing, Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics, as well as computer companies including IBM and Hewlett-Packard. There are many reasons to demand the closure of Pine Gap.

Pine Gap is essential for the US military to target drones, and other weaponry, wherever it is operating, and especially in the middle east.

Pine Gap collects data globally for intelligence surveillance and analysis by the US National Security Agency (NSA). NSA shares this information with its ‘Five Eyes’ partners; UK, Canada, New Zealand & Australia.

Go to independence
